Student council
Student self-government is an integral part of educational work at the Kharkiv Socio-Economic College, as one of the important forms of student involvement in public activities, development of their individual abilities and talents, and provision of conditions for self-realization of the individual.
Student self-government is a form of governance in which students at the level of an academic group, specialty, dormitory, and educational institution as a whole have the right to independently resolve internal management issues, defend the rights and interests of students, and promote the harmonious development of personality and the formation of the skills of a future leader, organizer.
Self-governance helps students develop a sense of involvement and responsibility for what is happening around them, shows a real path to change for the better, helps to identify and educate leaders, and gives them the first skills of management. Thus, the system of educational work in the form of student self-government contributes to the achievement of the goal - the education and development of students through a person-oriented approach.
Student self-government in the college functions with the aim of ensuring that students fulfill their duties and protect their rights, form organizational skills, the ability to correlate their own interests with the wishes of other students, fosters the desire to work in a team and promotes the harmonious development of the individual.
The college has created a model of the self-governance system, the essence of which is the inclusion of student leaders in a dynamic system in which the skills of an organizer and manager are practically developed and consolidated. By duplicating the main functions of the directorate, its members develop the ability to plan, choose the main areas of work, clearly establish control and verification of the work performed, correctly distribute responsibilities and ensure coordination of actions.
Student self-government is the leader of the student body and unites creative and extraordinary personalities around itself, acts as the initiator of all interesting, useful affairs and educational activities.
In this case, the organization of interesting leisure activities by the student self-government is one of the main conditions for the implementation of the task of improving the quality of training of future specialists, it gives every student the opportunity to participate in the management of the college, to develop initiative and independence.
In the college, the formation of student self-government takes place on a democratic basis. The form of activity and the functional duties of its leaders are determined by the "Regulations on the Council of Student Self-Government in the College".
The structure of student self-government of the college involves painstaking daily work. Participating in solving various problem situations, participants of student self-government develop practical skills in managing public affairs, learn a system of knowledge and skills to perform organizational and leisure functions of future professionals.
Self-governance enables college students to systematically perceive and analyze the results of their own and other people's actions, which helps them realize and adhere to moral and ethical norms of behavior. Thus, at the meetings of the student council, issues of negative behavior of college students are considered, students who fail to keep up and violators of the rules of the internal procedure are listened to. The Student Council initiates the introduction of a healthy lifestyle through a series of preventive measures.
A developed system of student self-government provides an opportunity to develop in students such qualities as confidence, responsibility, tolerance, initiative, the ability to express one's own opinions and the ability to make decisions. But these qualities, like leadership talent, are rarely given to anyone by nature, you need to learn to be a leader.
